Synonymous with the Singapore music scene over the past 25 years, Tony has evolved from his humble beginnings as a musician to the involvement of running his recording studios, opening his very own live music club in Boat Quay and has been keeping his hands full by providing his music expertise as a consultant to popular clubs such as Emerald No.5, the Hard Rock Café .

Tony kicked started his musical career with the ever popular trio Tony, Terry and Spencer. Dubbed as “one of the most popular trios” in the 80’s, Tony Goh made his mark in the local music scene and never turned back since then.

The trio recorded their very first album in 1979 entitled “I Won’t Move Over”. The Tony, Terry and Spencer trio continued to entertain the crowds at popular music clubs and hotels such as Oberoi Imperial and the Orchard Hotel. This lasted for about 3 years up till the mid-80’s.

After the split-up, Tony ventured into other music projects with artistes such as Tracy Huang. During this time, he continued his career as a solo artiste entertaining in numerous hotels and clubs. He continued to revolutionise his stage performance by incorporating digital music recording and sampled sounds in his repertoire. Some of these include the Fairlight system, which was popularised by superstars such as Stevie Wonder and Tears for Fears.

The next big stepping stone came around 1993. Together with some partners, Tony opened his very own pub called “Off Quay”, located in the hustle and bustle of Boat Quay. Tony continuously promoted live music, allowing his club to become a platform for many local artistes like Tanya Chua, Jai (previously from the band Kick), Adam Lee (music arranger), Rai (EIC) and also Shirlyn (UnXpected) .

In 1997, Tony decided to go back to the studios and started his own recording studios called “Greenroom”. His studio boasted Singapore’s very first Euphonix CS2000 mixer worth over S$100k. His constant love for music, especially in the development of local artistes never faultered. Tony recorded local artistes like Livonia and Opposition Party. He was also constantly involved in charitable activities like the Dyslexia Album recorded at the Greenroom itself. All the proceeds of the album went to patients suffering from dyslexia.

Tony was engaged by the HPL group to be their entertainment consultant for Hard Rock Café in the year 2000. Seeing the potential in the music industry, Tony started to experiment with different live acts each night with Wala Wala and Balaclava when he was their music consultant from 2001 till 2006. The concept became a hit when both clubs became flooded with music-lovers from all walks of life. Other pubs and clubs started to follow suit and thus this lead to a lot of opportunities for musicians of today to gig in various clubs. Currently, Tony is now the Music Consultant appointed by the mogul of the Singapore's entertainment industry, Dennis Foo, to inject young and new talents to St James Powerstation.
